Since I came back from Seville, weather hasn’t been great in Switzerland. Temperatures have dropped suddenly and it feels like winter. The impressive autumn colors from a few weeks ago have faded. It has even snowed already in the lower parts of the country (but it was a brief snowfall and the snow didn’t set). It feels like autumn is gone for good and winter has arrived early… And while we wait for the snow to come and the Christmas lights to be switched on, it seems that the cold, dark skies and the rain have come to stay, specially during the weekends…

Fortunately, there are a few moments of calm. The rain and the dark clouds also need to take a break, and it is in those moments when I feel blessed for having so much nature near home. A few days ago I had one of those brief moments when the sky cleared for a few hours… I didn’t doubt it for a minute. I took my camera, jumped in the car and drove the 20 minutes that separates Türlersee from my home. I only miscalculated the time: with the winter daylight saving time, sunsets are now way too early!! So I arrived in Türlersee just in time to see the clouds catching the last colors before the sun disappeared behind the distant mountains…

I didn’t mind. It felt really good to walk around the pretty little lake. Türlersee, with its calm waters, its reflections and its beautiful forest always reminds me to those lakes in Scandinavia. I got to see some golden tones, not only in the sky, but also on the trees surrounding the lake, and I had fun photographing the last mushrooms in low light (that was a bit of a challenge, as my lens doesn’t have image stabilization and I didn’t bring my tripod).

Here are some photos I took that day. I hope you like them!
