After exploring the Ring of Kerry and the southern part of the Dingle Peninsula, the third day of my last trip in Ireland started a bit like the previous. It was humid, foggy and cold. But that didn’t stop me. After all, that was the weather I had endured for three years in Ireland, hehehe.

Following the recommendations of our BnB host, I went back to the harbor of Dingle. If there was a chance to see Fungi, the famous dolphin from Dingle, I didn’t want to miss it. But Fungi was at other things and didn’t show up… Fortunately, I found the next cutest thing, a baby harbor seal waiting for its parents, so I spent the first few minutes of that cold morning taking photos of the baby seal 🙂

After that, I strolled a bit around the city, I tried the famous sea salt ice cream from Murphy’s (if you ever go to Dublin or Dingle, you have to try this ice cream… it’s surprisingly good!!!) and I jumped into the car to continue my trip around the Dingle peninsula.

I loved the Dingle peninsula. There are so many things to see there. The historical and archaeological heritage in the peninsula is incredible: there are archaeological remains of buildings as old as 6000 years, and many constructions of the early Christian times. But the landscape is also gorgeous, specially the area of Slea Head, with its beautiful cliffs, and the old Dún Chaoin pier.

Soon after I did the Slea Head drive the fog started to be heavier and I couldn’t see anything from Connor Pass, one of the most famous landscapes in Ireland (hey, I have another reason to visit the country again! 🙂 )… The fog made me finish the day earlier than I expected.

Next day, on my way back to Dublin, I made one last stop on the beautiful little town of Adare. This was a great recommendation from one of my best friends in Ireland (she’s also a great photographer, you can see her work here). There I could see some of the prettiest and best maintained typical Irish thatched cottages as well as the beautiful ruins of the XV century Franciscan Abbey.

Now I feel that this post with my last photos from Ireland is like a second farewell to the country… But I’m sure I’ll go again to the Emerald Island soon! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I took them! 🙂
