The day I came back to Zurich from my Christmas holidays in Spain I was a bit disappointed. I couldn’t believe that all the beautiful snow that fell during the weeks before Christmas was gone… I was so looking forward to coming back to white landscapes… But the next day I had a beautiful surprise. When I woke up and opened the windows I saw an incredible sunrise! There was ground fog covering everything and above it, the sky was illuminated with incredibly beautiful pastel tones. I left everything and I run for my camera! I couldn’t resist to capture the gorgeous views I was watching from my window…

And here is the result! These photos are very different from what I’ve been showing you these months… Maybe more colorful and creative? Well, I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed watching this beautiful dawn 🙂

  1. Oh my! I do love fog shots and these are amazing! So glad you ran out with your camera.

    • Thanks a lot, Anne!!! I love fog shots too! In every travel I made in October I saw the sunrise from the train and there was ground fog rolling on the hills and valleys… It was impressive and I always regretted a bit the train travel and not being able to stop and take photos…..
So when I saw this I couldn’t resist the impulse to take the camera…. It was an amazing moment! And I didn’t even have to go out, these were taken from my window!!!!!

  2. Gosh these are amazing!!!! Could stare at them for ages, especially the first two

    • Thanks a mil!!!! Imagine you wake up and go to the kitchen to prepare breakfast…. and then you look through the window and you see fog, pastels colours everywhere….
Yep, I had to leave everything and run for my camera!! hahaha! Best impulse ever! 🙂 It was such a beautiful display of colours! And so ephemeral! It lasted just a few minutes!

      • Wow, you were just in time then! Best impulse ever, so true!! 🙂 I’d like to think I would have done the same – but then again I’m not a morning person so I might’ve had a hard time leaving my coffee machine – and I would have missed it! hahah! 😀 Anyway, these shots are gorgeous, you could easily sell them to hang on a wall!

      • I think it was luck!! It was the first one like this that I saw in my valley since I arrived 1 year ago…. we have gorgeous sunsets, but the sun rises at the other side of the mountains, so that light and colors are very uncommon here! 🙂 Good thing I didn’t have curtains and I could see it, hahaha 😛
Not sure about the selling…. but I’ll think about it, hahaha!
        Thanks a million again!!!! 🙂

  3. whoa. I love the color on these pictures!

  4. Those pink and lilac images are just love. Who could think that the fog can be so pretty? It looks magical, like someone was running there blowing colors 🙂 Amazing work!
