One of the things I love about Zürich is that nature is so close to the city. Within a few minutes walk from the city centre you can reach the Zürichsee with all its beautiful birds and swans, there are many parks and green spaces, including two botanical gardens… But what I like most is that just a few minutes by car (or 50 minutes walking) you find yourself at the beginning of the forest at the skirts of Uetliberg.
The week I spent in Zürich wouldn’t have been complete without a hike to the top of Uetliberg. I was looking forward to doing it. The views from the top of the mountain are impressive: you can see the whole city, the lake and the Alps from one side, and a beautiful valley full of farms at the other side. I also wanted to take advantage of the recent snow that covered Zürich the previous days before it disappeared. The paths to reach the top of the mountain were a bit icy, but every slip was worth it just for the beautiful landscape I could enjoy.
