The Forty Foot is a promontory at the southern tip of Dublin Bay, where people have been swimming in the cold waters of the Irish sea for almost 250 years. It’s been a gentlemen swimming club for almost all of its history and, thanks to its isolated and hidden location, it was also a popular spot for nudists… Nowadays, it’s still used by both men and women all year around.
For me, the Forty Foot is a great location for photography. The rocks, the waves, the colours and the low light allow me to create dreamlike seascapes. I love the effect of the foggy water and the calm and serenity that it transmits.
