Autumn is always a gorgeous season to photograph. The special light, the colours, the scents…
After some years living abroad, I recently travelled to Madrid, where I could see the city and its surroundings in this magical season. I forgot how gorgeous Spain can be in autumn. The transition between summer and winter is smoother than in the North. The changes come more slowly due to the milder temperatures. The variety of colours may not be as impressive, but the season is longer and everything is still green and golden in late November.
During my visit to Madrid I went with my family to San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Close to the town there is a place called “Silla de Felipe II”, where there is a very beautiful panoramic of the town and the Royal Monastery and some trails to hike through the nearby forest.
