I can’t believe it’s already one year since I took these photos. One year ago I was still living in Ireland and made this last trip around the country as my particular farewell to the Emerald Island.  After moving to Switzerland I started to take a lot of photos here and post them. I delayed this post so much that it didn’t make sense to publish these winter images in summer… So after one year, here they are! I already showed you photos of the first day of this trip in Co. Kerry. But my trip didn’t end there…

After that first day travelling around the famous Ring of Kerry, my next destination was Dingle. The previous day had been sunny and mild and I even saw an incredible sunset at the Kerry Cliffs. But this morning started with a very thick fog surrounding everything. My first stop was Portmagee and Valentia Island. In Valentia I visited its famous slate mine, a weird and phantasmagorical black landscape, and its cliffs, where I couldn’t see anything but fog.

After spending some time in Valentia Island, I headed to Cahersiveen, looking for the beautiful ruins of Ballycarbery Castle. It was a beautiful and melancholic view, the old 16th-century castle on top of a green hill with all the heavy fog around…

Later I continued to Killorglin and I arrived at night to Dingle, where the fog was still very persistent and it soon started to rain. As taking more landscape photos was almost impossible, I improvised and tried to take some more abstract photographs of the dew on some plants and the weird effect of the fog with the flash light at night.

Watching now these photos put a smile on my face. I remember the cold and the humidity of that day… and how little I cared that time about the Irish weather! Probably it was the only time I didn’t care, hehehe… Anyway, I hope you like the photos!! 🙂
